Besides being all kinds of wonderful, a trunk show really is a fun and unique opportunity for brides. We have found that until you're looking for something very special and specific, many people have never encountered a trunk show. Do I have to dig through trunks for a dress? Are the dresses off-the-rack? Why would I want to come to one? We are here to explain the magic.
Twice a year, bridal designers present new collections of gowns at bridal fashion week. Just a few weeks later, retailers from all around the country are invited to show rooms to see the collections first-hand. At this time, bridal salon owners and managers take careful note of gowns that they love, that they believe their brides will love, too. Because bridal boutiques carry many designers, it isn't always feasible to purchase as many gowns as a shop owner would like. And here's where trunk shows save the day.
Designers then pack up their stunning new collections into trunks and boxes and send them on a tour around the country. This way, brides all around the US can see full collections when it otherwise may not have been possible. Not only that, this gives brides the opportunity to view and purchase gowns that are not even on retailers' racks yet. That means the latest gowns, as soon as possible. Furthermore, many designers offer a discount for purchasing at a trunk show.
That means the newest gowns, at lower prices, before they are made widely available. And that sounds like a dream come true.
